What is it that defines being a sentient being, at what point will we acknowledge intelligence of our making ?

If we create a creature that is capable of the human responses of, Love, Pain etc.. do we become Gods in the process ?

  1. Sentient means "has senses".   That's it.  Every creature--and even some plants--are sentient to some degree.

    Sentience has nothing to do with love, pain etc.

  3. No, we would become humans that created a being capable of representing human responses.

  4. As soon as a machine deploys an initiative, anything at all, it was not programmed to do, it will have to be considered alive.

    And no, we do not become gods if we manage to pull that off.
