What is it that makes my cat make clicking noises while going after a fly?

While she watches a fly on the wall, she sits up and starts making this odd noise.

Her mouth looks like it's having a seizure over and over again, really really fast while she makes this odd pitch sound - slightly meowing, but clicking at the same time.

She almost sounds like a locust.

I'm not scared, but I'm wondering where she could get it from.

  1. The first time i saw my cat do that i thought something was wrong with him lol

After doing a little research found out its just a natural instinct they make then they see something they want to "hunt"

  2. It's called fretting, nothing to be concerned about. It's a hunting instinct. If you watch nature documentaries, you will see the big cats doin it too.
