What is it that makes person shy?

Question

I'm asking this because I'm a shy person myself, and I want to understand WHY I'm shy --because I really have no clue. And this way maybe I can figure out something that wll stop me from being shy.

Because as children, there were always super enthusiastic, social, loud kids, no matter how normal you were.  And those kids got all the attention and became popular as you grew up.

It's all a matter of focus I think. Focus on strengths, not weaknesses. Positives rather than negatives. Develop self-sufficiency and peace within yourself - then you will draw people to you like a magnet and, instead of being shy, you will begin to enjoy expressing yourself with them more. because your scared that if you say something or do something then people will judge you for it.

so you feel as if you have to gaurd everything you do and say
