  1. Your friend is misinformed. Lobsters are not monogamous and do not 'hold hands' - in fact, two lobsters locking claws is more likely to be a sign of aggression than affection. Nor do they 'scream' when boiled - they have no vocal chords. The screaming sound is merely the air in the carapace escaping. Remember that a lobster being cooked is not put into cold water and slowly brought to the boil - it is dropped straight into boiling water, and is dead in a matter of seconds. This is probably the quickest and most humane way of killing an animal with a hard exoskeleton - smacking it over the head or attempting to cut its head off would take longer and probably cause greater suffering than dropping it in boiling water does.

  2. They have no vocal chords to scream with. The sound is just from gasses escaping the shell as they are cooked.

  3. THAT SCREAMING NOISE IS FROM THE LOBSTER SAYING I AM DYING YOU BTCH

  4. Answer 1: They have no vocal cords to scream with plus they have no brain and 100,000 neurons versus a human’s 100 billion) so they don’t feel pain

Answer 2: No they are not monogamous the Alpha male in the region will have his way with the females this allows for more dominate genes to be passed.
