When I was in Naples in the mid eighties the streets were illuminated by burning garbage and now it is the same again. Why can't it be dropped in the sea?

  1. It's all controlled by the Mafia I think

It's so sad to think that these people have absolutely No regard for other humans, wildlife and environmental impact.

  2. Naple has a waste managment problem because the landfills are full.

The Garbage crisis in 2007 has led to serious health issues, but attempts to ease the problem are being hampered by the CAMORRA

The CAMORRA has infiltrated parts of the waste management industry in Naples and a significant part of the budget appears to be disappearing into the pockets of the CAMORRA.

    Hope that is suffice

    Lotsa Lurve

    Suzi

  3. yer i agree i reckon it is a beautiful place though without the garbage

i think there is something wrong with the government i dont no

  4. Naples has a very long and troubled history with its waste. From 1895 to 1913 it suffered one of the worst outbreaks of cholera ever recorded in Europe because two of the six 'street cleaners' ( whose job it was to unblock the open sewers) died reducing the cleanliness to below the hygiene factor (this is where the term came from).

Now the garbage is controlled by the Mafia who are holding the town to ransom and even shipping in vast amounts of garbage from all over Italy.

    Poor Italians.

  5. Hi, I live in Naples.

The real problem here is that our beautiful city is ruled by someone who is not able to do it, by someone who takes for himself all the money allocated for rubbish dump by the italian governement.

Our mayor, Iervolino, a woman without pride said "ok it's not a problem the garbage, nobody will die for that" (in the meanwhile she lives in a wonderful clean street with a red carpet outside her house).

Our president of the region, Bassolino, just keeps on damaging this city, having friendly contacts with camorra, in my opinion. It's a terrible situation.

But Naples is great, it's amazing, so beautiful.

We don't deserve what is happening. We don't deserve to live in the garbage.
