Who are they get in one's face over abortion? My friend just got an abortion two weeks ago, and now suddenly she's the spawn of the devil for doing so by her co-workers, parents, and some of our friends, me and like two people are on her side about all this.

She didn't want to have the baby, okay, and she did have protected s*x, somehow though the condom must have broke. Again she doesn't want to have a child. Okay, so how is this your problem and why are you people attacking those who abort babies? You can't force them to have a child if they don't want to.

  1. in your friend's case it's ridiculous having a go at her - if she used protection, fair enough it's her right.  what annoys me is when 15 year olds have unprotected s*x time and time again, then need abortions.

i do think they are cruel, foetus' can feel pain from a very early age - but you have to realise that if the child would have a horrible life, then it's better off to have an abortion. some people should take more care, but your friend's done nothing wrong!

  2. I think they should put restrictions on it. i know some women who just keep getting them over and over again...that makes me mad.

now, i do believe that people should be able to have that option, as that is their body! But people being careless just because they know they can get rid of it is disgusting

  3. Oh this is a good one. This debate never seems to get old. Here's how I see it, women in relationships definitely have to be more responsible in protecting themselves against unwanted pregnancy because abortion (like someone put it) is not some quick fix. It's not something to keep doing to make up for being irresponsible. It can get dangerous. However, people who are against it can critize and complain all they want because that's not gonna change the fact that a woman has a right to decide whether or not she is going to have an abortion. It's not their body, so they need to get over it and mind their business. It's easy to critize when you're not in the postion of that person.

I mean I understand that people feel these are innocent unborn children, that's very true. But what if that woman was raped, what if she is a victim of incest, what if it's a life or death situation? How many women would find it easy to give birth to their rapist child? How many incest victims would be able to deal with giving birth to their father, uncle, brother, cousin, or even grandfather's child.  That child would always be a reminder of that horrible situation no matter how hard you try to ignore it. That's completely insensitive to bully someone into a situation like that. What If your doctor told you that giving birth could very well lead to your death, would you do it anyway in a heartbeat? If a woman has that child anyway how do you explain to them the only reason they are on this planet was because of that horrible event. I find it hard to believe this wouldn't damage someone emotionally or even mentally.  I feel like there is an exception to just about everything. I know this wasn't  the situation of the poster's friend, but for people who are against abortion aren't these exceptions pretty understandable?

  4. It is rediculous how people judge others when they find out that they have had an abortion.  That said, I am surprised that your friend did not realise this beforehand and refrain from telling everyone about it, just to avoid the hassle.  :-/

  5. It is unfair for them to give her a hard time about it, especially now that what's done is done. Her mistake was letting people know what was going on, especially at work. Eventually they will get over it, forgive and forget. Or she may end up needing to move on to a less judgmental environment.

  6. Very true. I think that most people are so "anti-abortion" because they have been so brainwashed by the Conservative media into thinking that aborting an unborn child is "murder". it's not. Abortion is [should be, anyway] the woman's choice. It's better to abort the child than have to give it up for adoption, so I have just as much respect for women who have had abortions as I do for the ones that kept the baby.

  7. there are people who place religious reasons in it and there are those who wonder if it is ethical. the idea of "destroying" a life upsets people and just want to express their opinion regardless. they find it to be repulsive enough that they want your friend to know what they think. it's like when your outraged at something someone did and you speak out against it(ex: a rape or something). i figure it's the same thing to them

  8. alot of us know its murder but those coworkers can shut up too....she shouldnt have told anyone outside her family.. IF SHE DIDNT WANT ONE SHE SHOULDVE USED CONDOMS....theres such a thing as personal responsibility...its very selfish to kill someone cuz the baby is inconvenient...makes me sick really..

giving birth would be more unselfish and she have adopted it out..

  9. some people need to get a life of there own! and get over it!!! bringing unwanted children into the world not an answer!

  10. Abortions are perfectly legal medical procedures and no one has a right to discriminate aginst those who choose to have one for whatever reason.  As I say (probably too often) only two people have anything to say about an abortion.  The woman says "I want an abortion," and her physician says, "Will Tuesday be convenient."

  11. Hello,

If these people believe you are essentially destroying human life in development then they have a problem with it and want to speak out. Legislation condoning it does not necessarily make it morally correct.

The legal government of the Third Reich for example, legally legislated the Jews and others as sub human and exterminating them became legal as well.

    Cheers,

    Michael Kelly

  12. Responsible enough to carry out the actions... Responsible enough to face the consequences.

But hey that's just my opinion. Nothing religious. A life is a life and a human is a human. Embryos are both living and human so I'd consider it to be science.

  13. i think it was her personal choice but why did she tell everyone about it? Seems like she was asking for trouble by not keeping it private.

  14. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting pro choice, g**s, and so much more.

No sign of a loving and forgiving god there is there?  Just nasty human failings!!!
