    Ciao can be translated with "Hello" and in italy is used when u enter a place, or when u go out from there..

  2. Probably a special word, but 'Ciao' also covers it. My old English teacher kept remarking on how you could just say ciao to someone on the street and it would be hello and good bye in one.
