I got a battery and a disorderly when I was on vacation in the Dells. They gave me two tickets. I can't afford to pay them, and I can't afford to go to court in a month. I figure that they are going to issue a warrant. I live in Chicago, and I was wondering what jail time was for a warrant, and if I can be arrested here for that warrant?

  1. There is no jail time length for the warrant itself.  If you are picked up for the warrant, you would be taken into custody and taken back to appear before the judge and answer the charges.  Different warrants have different geographical limitations.  You certainly could be arrested on the warrant, or at least detained while the police investigate whether the originating agency will extradite from that far away.

  2. You have two choices. If you do not show up a warrant will be issued for both citations. Since you recieved tickets, it will be more than likely the warrants are Muncipal and will be valid in WI only or Adjacent counties. The warrants will have bond conditions of "x" amount of dollars or "x" days in Jail.

The other option is to contact the Court and seek a payment plan. If you don't do anything, the warrants will bite you when you least expect it.
