What is jailbreak on a ipod Touch??

I'm getting the Ipod touch 8gb soon and people keep talking about this whole Jailbreak thing. So should i do it? becuz i've heard that if ur ipod touch happens to break, and u have jailbreak, APPLE won't even touch it. Does jailbreak do any bad things on it and exactly what is it?

jailbreak is just hacking it. if you want to download games, themes, other applications on it then you'll jailbreak it. nothing bad happens. i did it to my ipod and it's fine. if you decide to jailbreak it, you can email me and i'll walk you thru it

jailbraking your touch means hacking it. you can add a lot of cool features and games/apps but it does mean that you wont be able to send it in for repair.
