What is jailbroken and Pwnage?

i hear all these terms about the iphone, but what does it mean and what does it allow you to do?

Jail broken means that someone has "Cracked" the phone so they it can be used on more then one network. "Pwnage" means Proper Ownage, basically it's very good.

A lot of confusion about these terms.  Let me clarify.

To Jailbreak your phone: Allow installation of unofficial software on your phone, may decide not to use iTunes activation.  Jailbroken phone will work only with official service provider, i.e. ATT in US.

To Unlock the Phone: Allow your phone to be used with other carriers.

Pwnage: Name of software which allows to jailbreak and unlock  your phone.
