EX: freedom to drive at 150mph in a highway with a bottle of bacardi in the passenger seat.

Yeah your free but not free to do that :-/

Man is born free-from burdens, rules, restrictions, etc. But he is chained by those things by everything around him-I think that's what the saying means. You should read what he says after that; it might help you figure his meaning out.   http://www.constitution.org/jjr/socon_01...

man is born free, but since he is a social animal he is governed by laws, even his rights are limited. hence; the restrictions
