  1. In more simple terms, your biological clock will be messed up because of the time difference and you might not feel so well until you adapt.

  2. You know how it's time for bed because it's around your bed time and you're sleepy, and it's time to get up because the sun has come up and your body tells you?

Well, jet lag is when that system in your body gets thrown out of whack.

It normally happens when you travel from one area to another that has a different time zone.  It takes your body a few days to catch up and adjust to the new time zone.

  3. is a physiological condition which is a consequence of alterations to circadian rhythms; it is classified as one of the circadian rhythm sleep disorders. Such disturbances result from rapid transmeridian travel, as on a jet plane, shift work, daylight saving time or chronic congenital disorders. They are known as desynchronosis, dysrhythmia, dyschrony, jet lag, or jet syndrome. The condition is generally believed to be the result of disruption of the "light/dark" cycle that controls the body's circadian rhythms.
