Job Corps is a program underwritten by the United States Department of Labor designed for economically disadvantaged young people between the ages of 17-24.  The program(s) will teach remedial skills (math, English, etc) as well as vocational skills in a variety of trades (electrician, security guard, typist, etc).  There is no military training provided, but recruiters visit most centers at least twice a month, so an army presence is around.
