What is juvie and what happens to you?

im a 14 year old boy and i was wondering what is juvie and what is it like. what is it like for a 14 yr old boy and will it be harsh like guards wiping you and hitting you. what will happen im scared please be serious.

It's usually not the guards you have to be afraid of (the movie "Sleepers" to the contrary), it's the other inmates.  Some places are worse than others.  Some are better than others.  The guards are there to keep you in line, not to beat or whip you.  Some look out for you, some don't care.  The biggest danger is the same as in adult prison:  gangs who think of the prison facility as their "turf."

Why are you scared, grasshopper?  What's going on?

Basically its jail for children and teens. Juvie is short for juvenile ((youth)) detention center. I'm pretty sure they don't beat you or anything though.

juvie is like jail for teen's who have committed a felony,but since they are under the legal age they can't be sent to jail.juvie its not as bad as the jail,no guards do not whip you.juvie is more like a detention center they try to get you to get your life back in order.the only problems you might encounter is older kids they  will treat you like c**p if they think you weak.

the guards probably wont do any of that. it is pretty much a school that you live at. like a boarding school with really strict guidelines and rehabilitation classes.  Also you will probably get bullied maybe even raped if your small. where as if your bigger youll probably be able to fend for yourself.

its nothing good.. especially for a lil 14 year old kid... why are u scared? u think u goona end up there? and if u do u better change because all them older boys will end up bossing you around..

well ive been told by guys our age who have gone. (im 15) and they said it was scary and stuff. they dont beat you or whip you. thats only in cartoons. but they are really well... commanding. its not fun. and the reason people are their is because they have dont things terrible so obviously they arent gonna be "oh u poor thing wana sucker we know ur not gonna do that again ok u can go home"

it is literally just like a jail except ur not with a bunch of old men. its teens. hope ur not asking this because ur goin or anythin like that.

Juvie is jail for children. Trust me it is a place that you dont want to be in. You are usually locked in a cell or in a room with a bunch of beds. Most of the children there are trouble makers. You are away from your family and can only see them once or twice a week for not very long. The food is horrible. They dont beat you that would be against the law, but I dont think they treat you like your mother would.If you did something bad and deserve to go there then maybe it will teach you a lesson. I hope that you did not do anything wrong and have to go to this place. Ask God for guidance and try to be a good kid. God bless you.
