there is huge difference between jadav ghosh/ sadgopa ghosh and soukal ghosh. soukal ghosh are descendent of khatriya- actually descendent of maraj sucharu. soukal ghosh are goudia khatriya and belongs to higher caste. jadav ghosh were habituated in milk-man business and they never belong to higher caste or khatriya. soukal gotras were habituated in intellectual pursuits and in administrative level. if we search the history of undivided bengal then we can find a number of jamindars, rajas, deewans hail from soukal gotra. bengali kayasthas are of different sections called house e.g house of 4, house of 8, house of 16 etc. among these house of 4 is top level kayastha and called kuleen kayastha and this house is consisted of ghosh, bose, guha and mitra. among these four ghosh is the top most or kul-sreshtha. actually sadgopa ghosh should write their surname as ghose. how can u mix up these two- soukal ghosh and jadav ghose?

both are different.. ghosh saukalin are kayastha(dual status-bhramin & kshatriya both) are higher caste people having the professsion of writing, nmathematician & accountant. ghosh jadav belongs to other backward caste, mainly found in the district of kishanganj, purnia of bihar.
