  1. Its a metabolic waste product as a result of anaerobic fermentation.  Its an alternate pathway to oxidative phosphorylation.  

    In plain english...  when your muscles aren't getting enough oxygen as when you are working out real hard, you get lactic acid building up in your tissues.


  2. It's acid which develops in your blood stream. I think it develops when you get VERY tired. I remember my science teacher saying it before in my class. I might've misunderstood so I might not be right.

  3.   You can avoid lactic acid build up by warming down after strenuous excersise. (A slow jog). If it builds up you will ache the next day. You could just type this into google its probs quicker lol.
