  1. dont get us to do your homework!

  2. didn't your teacher explain lowest common denominators?

  3. You can demonstrate this by drawing 2 equal-sized circles. Divide each one carefully into pie shapes--one into thirds and one into fifths. Color 3 of the fifths and then 2 of the thirds and if you lay one on top of the other, you'll see which one is larger. But the way to do it without having to draw is to turn each fraction into fifteenths. Then 3/5 becomes 9/15 and 2/3 becomes 10/15 which is larger.

  4. 2/3 because in decimal,

    2/3= 0.66666666

    3/5= 0.6

    so 2/3 is bigger

  5. might as well teach you how to fish :

the lowest common denominator (i think) is 15, because 5 (bottom) and 3 (bottom) both multiply into 15.

    so multiply 3/5 by 3 = 9/15

    and 2/3 by 5 = 10/15

now you can see than 10/15 is larger than 9/15, so 2/3 is larger than 3/5

  6. 2/3 is larger than 3/5

    Reason why

By multiplying both by say 5

    5 x 2/3 =10/3 =3.33 and  5x3/5 =3 only

There fore 2/3 is larger by 0.33 compared to 3/5

    ok?

  7. 2/3 because it is equivalent to 10/15 and 3/5 = 9/15

  8. 2/3  ..I have no reason for it.

  9. 2/3 = 2 divided by 3 Equal to 0.66.........

    3/5 = 3 divided by 5 Equal to 0.60

This is a way you can do to see which fraction is larger by dividing.

You do this by dividing the numerator by the denominator and you get the answer.

That means 2/3 is larger than 3/5.

    I hope this helps..

  10. First answer was a great way to show you!

    Also 3/5 = 0.6

    and 2/3 = 0.6666

    Hope it helps.

  11. 2/3rd becuase the smaller it is the bigger it i. 3/5 the bigger it

    is the smaller it is

  12. If you set them over a common denominator, you can tell which one is bigger. The easiest way to find a common denominator is to multiply the two denominators together (in this case 3x5 = 15). So:

    3/5 = 9/15  (multiply top and bottom by 3)

    2/3 = 10/15   (multiply top and bottom by 5)

Fractions are just ways to represent numbers that allows for decimals to be represented as well.

  13. 2/3 is bigger than 3/5

because 2/3 is equal to 66.667%

and 3/5 is equal to 60%

  14. 2/3

    2/3 is basically 66%

    and 3/5 is 60%
