  1. laser acupuncture works on exactly the same principles as normal acupuncture but no needles whatsoever are involved.

Laser acupuncture has been used for many years in Europe and Canada and is a modern take on a treatment that is more than 2000 years old.

laser acupuncture can be used to treat addictions, such as those to smoking, alcohol and over-eating

"Certain points are stimulated by the laser that help with the symptoms of post addiction, for example, cravings and withdrawal symptoms. The ear has designated points which the laser is applied to in order to stimulate these points and bring about relief from these symptoms."

The laser can also be used to treat things such as lower back pain, a frozen shoulder, sciatica, or for pain management and pain relief. It can even help to treat scar tissue. Essentially, it can do whatever normal acupuncture can – just without anything entering the body!

  2. laser acupuncture is the same as needle acupuncture... it's good for people w/ bleeding or clotting problems as you don't puncture the skin.

It's also good for people w/ fear of needles.

another benefit is that you only zap the acu points for about a minute or so each- so the treatment times are generally quicker.

  3. Laser acupuncture is just regular acupuncture spiffed up with some "gee whiz sciency" gadgets...they use cold lasers (similar to those used for laser pointers) at the traditional points where the needles go.

You can put lipstick on a pig too...but it's still a pig.
