  1. Amtrak is not the answer because their highly price.

It's best if you take $1.75 PATH or your NJT Bus to Newark Penn Station, then get ticket from Ticket Vending Machine $9.25 one way, or if you coming back in evening, buy $15.75 off-peak Round Trip to Trenton Station.

Once you approach Trenton Station, go upstair to NJT Ticket Window and purchase one way ticket on SEPTA R7 $8 one way or $14 round trip to anywhere along R-7 which goes through Center City.

  2. That would most likely be with Amtrak.    To get their best fare, you might have to buy your ticket anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks in advance.   It's been my experience that they have a certain number of "best priced" tickets and you just have to get one while they are available.    You might want to talk to them; their toll free phone number should be at their website:  www.amtrak.com  or call toll free information at 1-800-555-1212.    Hope this helps you out and you have a pleasant experience on your trip.
