  1. It's like lemon pie filling.  You can make it yourself or buy in a jar or can.  Check in the pie filling aisle.

  2. Lemon curd is basically a lemon custard. You can usually find it at big supermarkets, or small specialty stores with the jams and other spreads. It's actually quite easy to make - I think Martha Stewart has a great recipe and it's probably on her website.

  3. In a jar in the supermarket, or a fancy deli may have a fabulous brand that is Divine, also, you could make it from scratch, you could get a recipe from a dessert cookbook or any older style good family cookbook, ask mum or grandma, they'll be able to show you or help.

  4. Lemon curd is basically thickened, sweetened lemon juice.  Dissolve your sugar in the lemon juice to taste, then bring the liquid to a soft boil.  In a separate bowl soften corn starch in a bit of water (one part to one half).  When the lemon juice comes to that soft boil add the liquefied corn starch and whisk for just a few seconds and remove from heat.  You can add a few drops of yellow food coloring to get a deep lemony look.  You can't s***w this up.  If it gets to thick just whisk a tiny bit of water in, if it's not thick enough put it back on the heat and add a dab more of the liquefied cornstarch.  (see Julia child baking book) I've never seen real lemon curd in a jar, but I may be wrong.

  5. It's all over the place.

You''ll find it in the jelly and jam section of any supermarket.

It's a lemon spread  that is used in many baking dishes.

Most brands come from England( where it is very popular).

  6. It's a delicious almost-jam made of lemons, sugar and butter.  You can also make it with oranges, called "Orange Curd".  It can be bought in jars, but it's never as good as home-made, which is very easy.

Here are a couple of recipes:

You can make jam tarts with the lemon filling, or layer cakes with it.  I'm happy to eat a spoonful or so on its own.
