  1. There's problems if you go to the Cathlolic areas, my car was covered in dirty water and spit when I returned to where i parked it in a Protestant area last month. It's an Irish registered car coz im from the republic. not a nice area, wouldnt recommend it at all

  2. belfast is fine, you just got to stay in the central parts ... thats where the best shops and bars and clubs are

    ... english are welcome

  3. Well life in belfast is alright, it could be better, i dont really know much about professionals leaving the country, there is loads of nationalitys living here like, polish, chinese, americans,  there is no problems with english people, they are just treated like the rest of us, and there is a good ammount of english people, but like i said they are just treated the same as us.

  4. Belfast is like any city.  There are pros and cons.  The quality of life in Belfast is actually very high compared to the rest of the UK and Ireland.  We have one of the lowest crime rates in the UK.  The standard of living is very high.  Rented accomodation is of an excellent standard and is very affordable.  A 2 bedroom house in a safe, trendy area within walking distance to the University Area and/or city center is usually around 350-500 per month....which, having lived in other parts of the UK myself, I think is really reasonable.

Typically you don't get professionals leaving the country by choice. Competition for jobs is fierce and it means some people will head towards Dublin, London or other big nearby cities to find work.  Mostly people want to stay there.

I don't feel there is any problem with English being there. I have English friends and work colleagues there and in all honesty they love the place.

Like any city there is good and bad areas.  There are certain suburbs where even I, a belfast girl, would not go.  It was the same when I lived in London.  There were certain areas there I was told not to go and I know my sister, when she visited Glasgow was told there were areas not to go.  You are always going to find people looking for a fight if you loook for them.

In general though, Belfast is a good sized city, with lovely people, lots ot see and do, a decent economy and an ever increasing infrastructure.

    I love it!
