Well they don't get to sit on the bum all day playing on PS3's like in normal prison they are made to do PT and clean every day.

in the uk there isn't really a prison, it's a training facility.

It's tough but fair. No one wants to go back a second time. The great advantage is that the military don't have do gooders, prison visitors and socialist workers looking over their shoulders all the time

You would not like it, it's not like civilian prison.

Army prisons  ""barbed wire city" (The Stockadee) do not allow you to sit in a  cell all day except for 1 hr recreation time a day.

  The term " confinement at hard labor" means just that. You maybe assigned to a work detail,  and  don';t waste your time  demanding a lawyer.

   You also lose all pay and allowances, which means,  if you have a  family  there goes tricare., BAH, your pay,  and any other money might get.   While it may be hard on you, it will br brutal for your family if you have one.

Also, any time you spend in prison must be "made up."  For example, you sign up for 4 years, you serve 3 months in the stockade.  You must serve those 3 months  in addition to your commitmentt, unless you are  given a discharge.  If you are discharged rather than retained, it would be a dishonorable discharge  and your GI benefits and VA benefits will be gone.

The bottom line" life in a military prison and the consequences are brutal.

In AIT, we marched fromour training site to our barracks once a week. En route, we passed "barbed wire hotel" and usually got a lecture about what life was like inside. That was as close to GI prison as we ever wanted to get.

It is very hard indeed. Nobody re offends after doing time in an Army prison.
