What is life like in Czech Republic specifically in Prague?

Ho'ws the standard of living there? Is it easy to get a job for Americans? And is US dollars goes a long way there?

First of all, unless you have an European passport you will not be able to apply for work there, exceptions are possible but rare.

It is not easy for anybody to get a job, the only jobs Americans can get that the locals can not do better is teaching English, and the UK people can fill the market rather easy as far as I know.

For cost of living, with the dollar taking such a dive I think that the cost of living is now the same as in the cheaper parts of the USA, not yet the same as New York, but in Prague the prices are also much higher than in the rest of the country and it might well be more expensive than big parts of the USA.

So forget living cheap there.
