It's kind of hard standing on 2 meters..when they break the glass hurts :-) (Sorry had to do the pun)

But anyway, in the US and Canada it's usually the most active band for local communications and depending upon the area, it can either be very active or almost dead except for a few times a week two people get on and talk usually through a repeater or on simplex.

In my area it's mostly active during drive time and when people would be out and about. Not too much night talking but mostly local people talking to each other who know each other. Best to go to a local ham club meeting for a real idea on how amateur radio is in the local area
