What is lime stone, such as found in caves what are the hazards of it, can it be found in a basement?

Limestone is mainly the compound calcium carbonate. It is common in the earth's crust where ancient sea beds once were. There are no hazards associated with limestone. It can be used as building material, like bricks or stone, but i doubt if you would find it in a finished basement.
