Question:

What is looked for in a JC Penney supervisor?

I work at JC Penney and have for quite a while now. I know I am young, but I recently applied for a supervisor position which just opened. I know everything about the departments, I have had leadership positions before outside of JC Penney, I am very smart and I know how to do everything (sends, can accurately price any item in my dept, etc). What are some things that the store manager REALLY seeks while searching for a department supervisor? Besides punctual and responsible? (BTW, is Mervyn's going under? A LOT of people from there come to JCP, like managers wanting to be supervisors...it doesn't make sense). Any putbacks help (haha)

  1. At my store, they look for people who are hard working and have excellent customer service. You have to have the mindframe that the customer isnt always right but they are still our customers and without them we would not be in business. You have to be willing to go above and beyond expectations.

    Good luck!
