  2. What is Love: To have love or deep affection for; to have  a strong passionate affection for; as for one of the opposite s*x; to be in love with; to have a strong liking for or to take great pleasure in; as, to love music; to express by kissing, or by caressing gestures of love or devotion for' to flourish in; as a plant or animal in a climate suitable to its needs.--v.i.  To have love or affection, esp. to be or to fall in love with one of the opposite s*x.

  3. There are many types of love.

The love that pop singers warble about falling in and out of is one sort but, from my perspective of a half a century plus of life, that seems to me to be mainly about hormones, s*x and a form of temporary insanity.

Still, I recognise what the pop songs are talking about. I've been there and it is, in it's own, mad, blazing-meteor-across-the-night-sky sort of crazy intensity, a fun thing while it lasts.

The love I felt for my late wife after 20 years together was totally different from that.

The love I now feel for my current partner is different too, but the thing they have in common is that the emotions are only part of the story. Love, for me and in this context, is more about deciding to honour, respect and care for someone and finding a way to do that even when they do something - as other people always will - to annoy you.

The love I feel for my baby daughter is yet another sort of love and I'm certain that my feelings differ to some degree to the love her mother feels for her.

As for whether love is good for the health, well, surveys have proved that men in long-term relationships live to an older age and are healthier than single men.  But I'm not sure the pop-song version of love is all that healthy: think of Romeo and Juliet and just where their grand, teenage passion got them!

  4. Love is when you see someone and like them, you can't get enough of them, and you want to be with them forever. It doesn't always last, it can hurt, it could be the death of someone. It can also save people. There are different kinds of love, like friendly love, brotherly love, motherly love, and the love we always see in books and movies. it's when you look at someone and they're all you want. but it's hard to find, and even harder to find a love that will last. that's why divorce happens so much, people think they're in love, but they're just crushing, or the love changes.

  5. love is different to every1, every1 percieves it differently, so there is no 'technical' meaning. what ever you think it is then it is.

I hope you're getting this down."
