Mix between two races. In USA exactly, meaning mix between black and white. These days considered a racist term (I don't agree). Some even will call a child of Italian and European ancestry a mulatto. ie, some people don't consider Italians white.

Mulatto is always applied to people born of black/white unions because it is from that relationship that the word was coined.

In fact, any mix of races that produce children fit the term equally well. In a way, all of the human race is mulatto, a mix of races, when one traces the family tree.

If you believe we all started with Adam and Eve or the first humans in antiquity, there really is no "pure" race.

its not an actual race at all - its some stupid word recently created to describe blacks who are bi racial. which actually makes no sense because hardly any blk ppl in the united states are full black. its referring to having one parent a different race from the other.

FYI, in the public census records back in the mid 1800's, the choices of race were for a time, White, Black or Mulatto only.  I believe most definitions say a mix of black and white, though may be of European descent as well.  One history lesson stated it was between indian and black.

Maybe....You mean MULATO,  if so... people from Brazil for examplo are mulatos........
