What is marijuana an upper, downer, or sumthin else???

i need to know what it is exactly because my friend and i are at a dissagreement about it and i need the right answer. Upper or Downer?

Actually, marijuana is a euphoria, and has a downer effect on the people,  while alcohol holds an upper effect on the people. Alcohol is a depressant, the giddy "up' sensation you get is that it suppresses your higher brain functions, but eventually slows everything down
