What is math in the real world??

I think I use it most in the grocery store when I compare prices or keep within a budget.  

My goddaughter's mom gave me money once to take her school clothes shopping, and she was amazed that we came within like 30 cents of the amount we had... and she kept changing her mind about what she wanted!

Calculating discounts at the store without using a calculator. At least that's how I see it now but I'm still in high school so...Algebra 2 here I come!

Calculating discounts/sales

Calculating how much gas money you need for a trip

Figuring out what time you need to leave the house to get somewhere at a specific time.
