Matter is anything, anywhere that takes up space and has mass. water, air, a block of wood, a pen, you. Pretty much everything that you can see is matter!!!

as far as I know, physical matter is a group of atoms that come together to form an element, and I would classify it as solid liquid or gas, which is these atoms reacting together to be either in a gas form, liquid or solid or as we know a sort of soquid or slushy form. if you're wondering, atoms consist of protons and neutrons in the nucleus and electrons are held in a gravitational type of orbit around the center, it's theorized that there are quarks inside of the protons and neutrons, and then there's string theory which is broken down even more
