  1. Insulin is a hormone produced by the body in response to high levels of blood sugar. Insulin causes the muscles to convert the sugar into mechanical energy. Coffee contains caffeine. Caffeine will slow the production of insulin, allowing blood sugar to remain high for a period of time until it is otherwise metabolized. So you get jittery and unable to sleep, and your muscles twitch and your colon goes into spasms. Your brain doesn't slow down to rest, and your heart works more than it really needs to. All of this brings on faster aging.
