  1. well osmosis is the inward or outwatrd movement of molecules across a semipermeable membrane and facilitated diffusion is the diffusion with the help of carrier molecules

  2. Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a cell wall or membrane or any partially-permeable barrier from a solution of low solute concentration to a solution with high solute concentration, up a solute concentration gradient. It is a physical process in which a solvent moves, without input of energy, across a semi-permeable membrane (permeable to the solvent, but not the solute) separating two solutions of different concentrations. Osmosis releases energy, and can be made to do work, as when a growing tree-root splits a stone.

Facilitated diffusion (or facilitated transport) is a process of diffusion, a form of passive transport facilitated by transport proteins. The facilitated diffusion may occur either across biological membranes or through aqueous compartments of an organism.

  3. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from a higher water potential to a lower water potential down a water potential gradient across a permeable membrane; while facilitated diffusion is also the movement of molecules from higher concentration to a lower concentration down a concentration gradient; yet it involves in carrier proteins and channel protein (which is the integral membrane proteins ).
