What is meant by BAR CODE?

i usually find it on every product>what is the use of that?

i also saw that on telephone bill too....

Bar code is the name given to the identification marks on products given by the manufacturer regarding the product like date of manufacture, price, product name etc coded digitally on the product package. it is a bunch of small lines making in to a rectangle shape, some lines thicker and some thinner.

It is read by a bar code reader  electronically and will be billed and segregated easily.

Bar code is an optical machine readable code

It is easier to recognize by the computer by some tracking devices and hence a code reader may be used to recognize the code and u can see such thing in super markets where they use to add items using the optical readers.

It's a code containing a lot of information, such as the country from which a product comes, it's manufacturer, what is is, how much it costs or other such information.
