What is meant by a polyp in a transerve position?

I recently had a check- after a polyp was found a year ago and since 3 more was found - on my notes it says y polyp is an transverse position what does that mean? is it serious?

  1. It is horizontal to the body.  It's just the direction it is facing.


  2. That is a strange way to word it, but I’m sure they meant the polyp was found in the transverse colon, not that the polyp itself was transverse. Each segment of the colon has a different name and the doctor should note where each polyp is found along with a description. You will not know if it is dangerous until the path report is done. Good luck.
