  1. Deflection mode is when the actuator is in motion.  It may be in motion under load, or not.  The actuator has been commanded to move to a new position from where it currently exists, so it moves to that new position.

    Load mode is a mode where the actuator is under load and must maintain its position.  The servo motor and feedback system must maintain the proper current (amps) to the motor to keep the position of the actuator where it is, no matter how the load changes.
