  1. Changing the landscape to suit our selfish needs is called of destruction of landscape. It is also called as deforestation. Deforestation is the conversion of forested areas to non-forest land use such as arable land, pasture, urban use, logged area or wasteland. Generally the removal or destruction of significant areas of forest cover has resulted in a degraded environment with reduced biodiversity. In many countries, massive deforestation is ongoing and is shaping climate and geography.

This article says real good information about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deforestati...

  2. It means that the usual scenery, the natural setting is destroyed.

This means that the clearing of trees (aka. Deforestation) is one of the problems.  Forests such as the rainforest and other pines have been cleared so that homes can be built and more paper can be made.

Many lakes are now stagnant because of the amount of chemcals and trash that have been dumped into the water.  No life will live in the lake- there will be no fish or birds.

And because of global warming, destruction of the landscape has occured as well. The ice bergs in Antarctica and the North and South poles have begun  to melt, destroying the home of Polar bears and Penguins. Without the ice, more heat and energy will be trapped in the atmosphere and the penguins and Polar bears will go extinct.

  3. Like mining, landfills, dumping toxic waste into gulfs and streams and lastly, deforestation.
