  1. I am not sure what you mean by development task, but I'll give it a try!

    I think that it sounds like something that a child does that would be appropriate for their developmental level.  For example, it would be developmentally appropriate to expect a first grader to be able to write their name using a capital letter and lowercase letters.  I would call that a developmental task for a first grader.  If they are unable to complete the appropriate developmental tasks for their age/grade, then it would signal to me as the teacher or parent that I need to do some further support and provide additional opportunities to meet these developmental tasks.
