That means providing friendly and attentive service to callers, making sure your information is correct (you'd be surprised at how many customer service agents say one thing while another person at the same company says another) and making sure the customer knows that attending their needs is your top priority.  It's important because if you are incompetent, word will get around about your company and the man on top will lose money by losing business.
