  1. Morphological traits: measurable phenotypic characteristics of individual organisms e.g., beak width, wing length.

    Organismal level: processes that act, or are manifested, at the individual level e.g., habitat choice of an individual rainbow trout; amount of sugar produced through photosynthesis by a sunflower

    Population (note: without the "al") level: processes that act, or are manifested, at the population level, as the aggregate outcome of growth/behaviour/etc. of individuals e.g., the rise of a mutant allele that confers increased digestive efficiency of maltose through a population of Drosophila; birth rates in a population of hares
