What is meant by pda?

i read that in a fanfiction and two guys wr kissin in front of their best friends.one of z bst friend said that he didnt knw they wr fans of pda.here,pda cannot mean personal digital assistant can it?

Always a good idea to give as much information as you can when you first ask a question as context is important. Maybe PDAs and 'Handhelds' confused you - and us!!
