What is meant by "are you legible to be legally employed"?

I'm in the Philippines now & applying for jobs online in Canada. That was a question in the online application.

  1. I think you mean ELIGIBLE which means do you have permission to work said job. For example a work visa if your from another country. OR for example a pedophile can't work in a situation with kids or an abuser can't work in places where the ppl are vulnerable to abuse like daycares and nursing homes.


  2. It probably means eligible.  Its asking if your an adult or have papers, where you can legally work.  I would check with the laws of the country and province you are moving into.

  3. It means are you a citizen or have official and legal papers to be employed by anyone.  Very important since they are cracking down on companies that hire illegal aliens.

  4. It means if you're not a Canadian citizen do you already have a work visa in place.

  5. Are you a citizen?

    Did a judge order you to not get a specific job?

    Stuff like that, I would think.

  6. I think you mean "eligible" and by that they're just asking: Are you a citizen, or immigrant with legal paperwork that "okay's" you to work here?
