What is meant by the 'appropriateness' and 'responsiveness' of a health system?

Can someone please explain these two terms, with regards to a health system..thanks

  1. Appropriateness has to do with cultural appropriateness, for instance. An example: a health clinic might want to educate women about reproductive health, but it would be culturally inappropriate to have all of the women together in a room and to show them a poster of their reproductive organs and ask them to talk about this openly together; therefore, a more appropriate way to educate the women must be created (such as teaching them one-on-one, or just within families).

    Responsiveness in a health care system means providing needed care in a timely manner, and "needed care" is identified by those who will receive the care.
