Do you know what a corset is?

go to Google and look up "history of corsets" and start reading.

You will find out what people thought was beautiful and how women destroyed themselves chasing that measure of beauty.

go ahead, do it. It's actually kind of frightening......... especially when you learn that corsets are making a come back today...

Corsets where worn by women as a way of showing both fertility and s*x appeal. It was believed that a woman with a small waist line and wide hips was ideal for child-bearing, and that she was more s**y to the male eye. there was even cases of women having their lower rib removed (in most extreme cases, such as Marylan Manson) to further exaggerate the smallness of the waist in comparison to the width of the hips. I'm not really sure on the time line of the invention of the corsets in respects to the beliefs that went behind their creation, so you'll have to look that up for yourself. But from what I can remember reading, this was the reasoning behind the corsets coming to life, and their extreme make overs.
