What is meant when some one has an addictive personality?

is it some one who get addicted to things easily like drugs

i is someone who gets new addictive crazes/ such as fashions or arts or crafts

or is it someone that is fun and someone you find fascinating ????

It's the first one. Drugs like alcohol and heroin are addictive. Fashion, fun, chocolate, s*x, these are not addictive.

Addictive personality means the person has the tendency to get obsessed with escapist behaviors.  Addiction comes in all flavors: drugs, alcohol, s*x, food, gambling, reading, cutting, gaming, ...

It's anything. I've known guys who were alcoholics (addicted to booze) and when they quit drinking, they became addicted to AA meetings, going 3-4 times a week. My husband's ex-wife came from an alcholic family and was so terrified of becoming an alcholic she never drank. However you can't outrun your addictive personality, and she is addicted to cleaning...absolutely obsessive about it.

My stepson inherited the gene and became addicted to video games, to the extent where he was up all night (literally) playing xBox360 and quit going to school AND starting missing work. He was 20 at the time, and my husband had to remove the game console from his room when he wasn't there and told him he could have it back when he got caught up on school. When we gave it back to him he was better, and eventually realized he was wasting his life.

you were right the first time. one who is easily addicted to .usually genetic. Example: Trying say alcohol, you find your self wanting more. low resistance to something. Hope the helps you...Good question.

means u want more of that person, fun, happy, bubbly?  All the kind of things you'd expect from an addictive thing...yeh so addictive means u want more so some1 u love being around will have addictive personality

I don't find it fascinating that someone has an addictive personality. However it might be fun, but obviously not okay for one's health, and those who are close should seek professional help for them. If you have an addictive personality it's usually in your genes, but face it most people fall into that category in many different ways. If your not an alcoholic, your an over eater. If your not a druggy your addicted and over obsessive with working out. It's just watching out for the things you get addicted to, and find healthier ways to be addicted to something. EX. going to get a rough work out, is the best high you will ever get.
