What is medically wrong if a vein on the p***s becomes tender and overly swollen during an erection?

This has been going on for a week now. I'm sure he'll make an appointment with a urologist today, but until he's seen by a doc, I'm hoping someone that has had experience with this can say what to expect. There's virtually no chance of an STD. Please, no frivolous answers.

It could mean that he is having too much s*x.  I personally know that if I rub that part of my body either by having s*x or masturbation too much it becomes really sore. Usually abstaining for a few days makes it better.  If it does persist like in the case you mentioned it is best to see the Doctor.
