What is ment when they say a pro trapered shaft?

What is usually meant by a "pro-tapered shaft" is a shaft that tends to be more cylindrical along it's length as opposed to a gradual taper along the entire length of the cue.  Frankly, I think it's a horrible idea because it speeds up the warping process.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
