What is missionary style exactly?

I hear people and read about it when they say that s*x missionary style is great and everything, but I don't even know what it is! If anyone can explain, or knows a site that explains it, that'd be great.

The missionary position is where the woman is on her back, and the man is on her front, face to face, and it is by far, the most boring and mundane position for most men.  Kind of like hugging, but she wraps her legs around you.  And you're grunting, and breathing hard.  And it's still boring.
