  1. Monofilament fishing line is a one stranded man made line. It can be purchased in many different colours and strengths.

Have you tried www.highlandtackle.co.uk for sea fishing tackle best prices around for monofilament fishing line. Huge spools too.

  2. i is mono-filiment line,  one single line as opposed to several lines together and i've never heard og Gerry's

  3. Mono is monofilament, as in plastic line that is not flurocarbon or braid. It is the most common type available in many brands on the market.

I have never heard of 4 oz, because here in the US they are listed in pound/ test ratings, like 12 lb., 6 lb., etc...

I would check your reel and rod ratings for the best line weight for your setup.

What is 4 oz, like a quarter of a pound line??? Weak!

  4. mono means "one" so i'm guessinmg it means: one fishing line.

  5. its used as hook to nylon

  6. It says 4 oz because  there is 4oz of line on the spool, therefore its  big spool of line, the breaking strain of the line is 15lb, try this line, the stuff you stated doesn't seem of very good quality

If you cant get that either try sufix supreme or sufix tritanium. 0.35mm is the diameter of the line, its 0.35 mm in diameter for the 15lb breaking strain.

  7. monofilament is nylon line that is quickly being replaced by many other types of braided and other types of lines. Braided line offers more strength and a thinner diameter so it casts easier and the fish are less likely to see it.

I've never hear of Gerry's either - where did you buy it?
