If somehow the whole world was given a definitive answer on abortion. In other words, is taking a life (performing an abortion) worse than taking a woman's right to do what she wants with her own body or vice versa?

  1. I think the sad part is the circumstances when a woman has to abort a foetus!

I beleive that parenthood should be a joint decesion and no one should be forced into it yet if we are ever to resolvre this complex issue we need to look into the factors that lead to this .

  2. First of all, there's not exists our values, because my values are not the same as yours.

  3. If pro lifers are wrong nothing has happened (today in the US anyway) other than a few arguments, and some crazy unfortunate cases of abortion doctors being killed.

If pro choicers are wrong then a bunch of babies have been killed.

  4. Pro-lifers fill the world with unwanted children. The children grow up deprived and have a higher chance of turning to crime etc.  The world is already overpopulated and we don't need more criminals, addicts etc.

Pro-choicers - if they are wrong - are not only advocating mass genocide, but a genocide of children. We are appalled that Herod killed young children, but hey that was his kingdom, his choice.

If I frame the debate in this way, the pro-choicers being wrong is about as bad as it gets.

  5. I'm just wondering where this definitive answer would come from. As far as I'm concerned, they're both wrong, but you have to decide for yourself which you think is worse... in other words, which situation would be harder for you to accept.

Personally, given how overcrowded the world already is, I find myself valuing personal freedom over the potential for additional life.

  6. If a pro-lifer is wrong, nothing happens...

If a pro-choicer is wrong... we have committed mass murder...

As it is, even with abortion women (and men) still cannot do whatever they want with their bodies; suicide is still wrong, as is prostitution, incest, and polygamy.

  7. Our society and our values would change in light of this information, but would not be ruined. I guess if Pro-lifers are proven to be wrong it would cause the greatest change in our society and values.

If you mean which would be worse in light of past events (most regretable) I think it's about even - lives were ruined either way, either by forced miscarrage preventing life or by being forced to be pregnant especially if the child couldn't be cared for.

  8. If it was determined that a woman's right to choose took a back seat to a group of undeveloped cells, I would suggest that the world would be in pretty bad shape.  It would be declaring that women are not 'worth' as much as men...setting us back - WAY back.

What right could be more important to a human, than the right to determine what they want to do with their body?

  9. There is no definite answer for abortion, but if the pro-choicers were wrong, it would be more disastrous, as that would mean mass murder of innocent children, who're handed in trust in divorce courts to the very woman who wouldn't think twice before killing them. So are mothers even half the parents father are, when they can kill as they like?

  10. It's worse to take away a child's right to life than to interpret an unborn child as being a part of a woman's body.  Why do people swallow that lie.

  11. There is no definitive answer, it's a matter of opinion.

  12. The idea that a Woman's happiness and well being comes before EVERYTHING ELSE in society is a VERY dangerous concept INDEED.

  13. The most detrimental thing to society is if I slash my wrists out of boredom from reading these incessantly tedious questions about abortion.

You weren't aborted. Get over it.

  14. I think that any woman who wants an abortion should have one. It's one fewer person to create societal problems and destroy the Earth.

  15. Under pro-choice people who think abortion is okay can have one, and those who think its wrong can choose not to have one. However, under pro-life, both groups are forced to abide by the will of one group. So to answer your question I think pro-life is less detrimental to society, it lets people chose their own path and make there own moral decisions on the matter.
